Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale has confirmed the outcome of the Christmas Day death drama involving Chloe Harris’s father Damon ‘Harry’ Harris.

A dramatic siege took place earlier this week when Harry tried to force his daughter Chloe to watch him kill the father of her child, Mackenzie.

Luckily, Charity and Chas Dingle spotted Harry and followed him to the factory where he was holding Mack hostage. Charity got into a scuffle with Damon, before a gun went off and killed the gangster.

There has been uncertainty over whether Charity could be charged with Harry’s murder, though new spoilers have revealed that will not be the case.

In scenes airing next week, DS Jones visits Charity and Mackenzie with the news that Harry’s death has been officially ruled as accidental.

While Mack is relieved and hopeful to put the entire deal with the Harrises behind him, Charity is putting on a brave face over her own involvement.

Privately, Charity is struggling over the possibility she may have taken a life — will she open up to Mack about how she’s feeling?

The dramatic Christmas Day episode wasn’t just the last stand for Harry — as his daughter Chloe brokered a deal with Mack to leave the village in exchange for covering for him.

Discussing her exit from the show, cast member Jessie Elland said: “I’ve had the best two years of my life playing Chloe and being a part of Emmerdale. Over those two years, it never got any less surreal to walk through the stage door at studios or to be stood outside The Woolpack at the village.

“I feel so privileged to have been given this opportunity and to have been trusted with such wonderful storylines. I really got to tick off the soap bingo card – giving birth, discovering new family members, a big stunt, a soapy slap, and even a classic back of the taxi exit!”

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
