“It was a bit cringe.”

Emmerdale’s Amy Walsh has shared her EastEnders star husband Toby-Alexander Smith’s reaction to her recent on-screen kisses.

The pair tied the knot last year in what they called “the most perfect day”, and are also parents to a young daughter named Bonnie.

Viewers of ITVbe’s Drama Queens got a peek into Amy’s personal life away from the screen in Wednesday’s (April 24) episode, where she shared how her husband can relate to her busy schedule.

“I think it really helps to be with another actor when you’re working in a soap,” Amy explained.

Drama Queens took viewers into the couple’s home, where they saw Amy and Toby co-parenting their young daughter.

However, Amy admitted that while Toby can relate to her lifestyle since he worked on EastEnders for so long, that doesn’t mean he necessarily wants to watch her kissing scenes.

The last few months in Emmerdale have seen Amy’s character Tracy Robinson involved in multiple romantic entanglements, first having an affair with Caleb Miligan and then later briefly reconciling with estranged husband Nate Robinson.

“In one episode, I was kissing two different men and me and Toby had literally just come back from our honeymoon,” she explained. “It was a bit cringe watching it with him, I have to be honest. We had to turn it off.”

“Some days, I’d come back from work and kiss him hello and go, ‘Oh, I’ve literally just been kissing [Nate actor] Jurell [Carter]. I’ve not even washed my face!” she added.

“[Toby] would be like, ‘Great, thanks!'”

The soap couple started dating back in 2020, before getting engaged in the summer of 2022. Their first child, daughter Bonnie, arrived one year later.

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
