Emmerdale viewers are convinced they’ve rumbled Eric Pollard’s downfall after a huge Kerry Wyatt betrayal and twist aired on Wednesday night’s episode

However, later on, the truth was revealed as Kerry removed money and jewellery from her costume. Since her return, Kerry has been helping daughter Amy plan her wedding to Matty Barton, urging Amy to spend what she wants as she’ll be footing the bill secretly hoping her stolen goods will provide cash for the big day.

Yet Kerry’s plan was thwarted on Friday night as she attempted to sell her necklace to no avail after being chased for wedding payments and instead got Eric to help her secure a good price on the item. Later, Eric had some bad news as he revealed that the necklace is in fact fake with the hallmark dodgy and the stones fake. Kerry was left gutted as Eric offered her a mere £60 for the item while at the same time an excited Amy revealed she had spent a fortune on wedding bits.

Kerry’s secret got exposed on Wednesday night after she was chased for payments yet again from Suzy and Kim Tate earlier this week. After getting a pittance for her necklace, Eric was shocked to learn that Kerry wouldn’t be able to pay for the wedding and Kerry had to reveal this news to her daughter on her wedding day.

Elsewhere, Amy’s husband-to-be Matty was blindsided by the news that the wedding was off. However, after taking a mystery call, Leyla announced the wedding was back on in a twist and Amy thanked Eric for saving the day. Later, it was revealed how Eric suddenly had spare cash in a huge Kerry betrayal. As the episode ended, Eric met with the pawnbroker who purchased Kerry’s necklace, as he received a wad of cash.

It was then revealed that Eric had worked with the pawnbroker to share the profits from the necklace, which was actually valuable and not fake, as Eric teased there would be more coming, adding: “There’s life in the old dog yet!” Currently, Emmerdale’s residents have no clue of Eric’s scam but many think his downfall is nearing.

Taking to Twitter, now X, one person said: “Eric will be caught out, I knew he was robbing Kerry .#Emmerdale”, a different account put: “I knew Eric was scamming Kerry #Emmerdale!”, another wrote: “Suspected he was colluding with his mate” while another added: “#Emmerdale oh come on it was so b****y obvious that Eric was scamming Kerry!”
