EastEnders spoilers follow from Thursday’s episode, which is available to watch now on BBC iPlayer. This article contains storyline details that some viewers may prefer to avoid, as this episode hasn’t yet aired on TV.

EastEnders‘ Penny Branning was offered a game-changing deal over her drugs scandal.

Penny was forced to face the music in Thursday’s episode (January 4), as her cousin Lauren remained in police custody after being framed for drugs smuggling.

Earlier this week, Penny had planted a huge supply of drugs in Lauren’s bag when they were travelling on a flight from Paris to London together.

Lauren had no idea about this, until she caught the attention of a police sniffer dog at the airport upon her return to the UK.

She was immediately arrested, much to the horror of her loved ones back in Walford – who have been trying to get answers ever since.

In the latest visit to the Square, which is available to watch now on BBC iPlayer, Penny prepared to be questioned by the police, following an ultimatum from Lauren’s ex-boyfriend Peter Beale.

Jack remained horrified over what Penny had got herself involved in, but she refused his help and insisted on dealing with this by herself.

After an attempt to get herself out of trouble backfired, Penny started realising the severity of the trouble she was in if she didn’t comply.

She was later offered a deal by the police, who told Penny that both she and Lauren could be released if she gave them details of the organisation she was involved in.

Penny was unsure if she could land Juliette in it, but Jack urged her to cooperate – promising to protect her afterwards.

An anxious Penny then began another interview with the police, where they cut to the chase and asked her how she knew Juliette. But how much will Penny reveal?
