The EastEnders fan favourite took to Instagram over Christmas to share an affectionate snap of him and his wife Estelle Rubio celebrating the festive season at home

EastEnders star Scott Maslen has shared a rare picture with his wife Estelle Rubio celebrating the festive season.

The soap star, who plays the iconic Jack Branning on the BBC serial drama, cosied up to his DJ wife on Christmas Day and shared the sweet moment on Instagram.

As the couple posed for a kiss, Scott captioned the post: “Happy Kissmass!! Remember you don’t need #mistletoe to kiss + hug all the special people I hope you’re with today too!”

Fans loved the sweet snap and rushed to the comments section to send their best wishes to Scott and his family.

“Beautiful family. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year”, one gushed.

While another added: “Merry Christmas you beauts, hope you’re all well. Sending lots of love xxxx”.

Scott and Estelle first started dating in 1999 after meeting in Primrose Hill to watch the total eclipse of the sun.

Two years later, they welcomed son Zack, who is now 22 and splits his time between London and Barcelona.

The long-standing couple tied the knot in 2008 and, judging by Scott’s latest Instagram post, seem more loved up than ever.

The sweet picture comes after Scott’s on-screen character Jack had a very eventful December.

As his marriage with Denise Fox continued to break down over a lack of trust, Jack ended up cheating on her and sleeping with a vulnerable Stacey Slater, who was terrified her stalker Theo Hawthorne was back on the Square.

When news of the affair came to light, it’s safe to say Denise was less than impressed and wanted to walk away from their marriage – however, Jack used his daughter Amy’s mental health as an excuse to manipulate Denise into not leaving.

Stacey was also left fuming when Jack told the police her best pal Eve Unwin was still alive and therefore foiled her plan to leave the country with Suki Panesar, who wanted to leave her abusive husband Nish.

All of these events indicated Jack could have been the mysterious dead body uncovered by The Six on Christmas Day.

Nish ended up being the body on the floor after Denise hit him over the head with a champagne bottle and Sharon declared him dead – however, he actually survived.

It was Keanu Taylor who ended up being murdered by Linda as she stabbed him in the back with a meat fork in a bid to save her best friend Sharon, who he was aggressively strangling at the time.

Jack has not been seen in any EastEnders episodes since a brief appearance on Christmas Day, but is in for a shock in the New Year when his estranged daughter Penny and niece Lauren return to Walford.
