Emmerdale fans have ‘worked out’ Rhona Goskirk’s exit from the village as they predict she’ll make a ‘stupid’ mistake over baby Ivy. There were emotional scenes during the latest trip to the Dales on Tuesday evening (February 6) as Rhona faced the prospect of saying goodbye to her biological daughter.
As viewers of the ITV soap know, Rhona’s ex-husband Gus unexpectedly appeared in the village earlier this year and asked her to let him use the embryos they stored years ago so that he could have a baby with his now-wife Lucy after cancer treatment robbed him of being able to conceive naturally.
Rhona went back and forth over the decision before deciding to say no to Gus. However, without her knowing, he stole her passport and forged her permission with Rhona only discovering the truth back in November after Marlon was coincidentally at the hospital at the same time as Gus and Lucy.
Later, in tragic scenes, Lucy died during childbirth and Rhona has since been bonding with Ivy after she and her mum Mary Goskirk sought to help Gus as he struggled to cope with looking after his daughter and deal with his grief.
However, Gus, after some gentle pushback from Rhona, has now returned to the village. During the latest episode of Emmerdale, as Gus announced he plans to take Ivy permanently and find his own home to raise her in, Rhona couldn’t cope any longer and ran off from the cafe crying.
She eventually returned home where her husband Marlon was waiting for her and the vet then broke down in tears once more, as she admitted to her husband that she already “loves” Ivy. And taking to social media, Emmerdale fans don’t think the situation is going to end well.
One said: “The Rhona and Ivy situation can only end one way. Very badly. #emmerdale.” Another commented: “I think there’s a storyline coming up where Rhona disappears with the baby. I mean, FFS. #emmerdale.” A third shared: “#Emmerdale of course it’s bl**dy obvious Rhona’s gonna do something really REALLY stupid.”
