You star Amy-Leigh Hickman has revealed whether or not she’d be open to a soap return.
The actress has starred in both EastEnders and Ackley Bridge, where she appeared as Nasreen Paracha up until season three when her character set off for Oxford University.
In an exclusive interview with 4yardsmedia, Hickman talked about her soap career to date and whether she’d be tempted to go back.
“Never say never,” she told us. “I feel really grateful that every single job since I was a kid, I have nothing but good to say about.
“There would be no reason to ever not return to any of them, and soap is where I met my closest friends, that are still my closest friends now, so that time in my life I really, really associate with really good memories.”
Up until late November, Hickman was appearing in the play Passing at The Park Theatre in Finsbury Park. As for the screen, audiences recently saw her star in Netflix thriller series You alongside Gossip Girl’s Penn Badgley.
The actress plays literature student Nadia, who uncovers a dark secret about her professor Joe (Badgley).
Netflix has renewed You for a fifth and final season, though we’ve yet to learn if Hickman will be back to reprise her role.
In a previous interview with 4yardsmedia, she said that she’d “love to come back and play her again”.
At the end of season 4 part 2 of You, viewers saw Nadia put in prison for a crime she didn’t commit.
In Joe’s final voiceover, he reveals that Nadia has refused to speak in her own defence and hasn’t spoken from prison so far. Could we see her take revenge in the final outing?
