EMMERDALE viewers were left in shock as Tracy Metcalfe unveiled a shocking blackmail plot and even risked her marriage to Nate in the process.
Over the past few weeks, fans of the ITV soap have watched on as Tracy, played by Amy Walsh, and Caleb Milligan (William Ash) have enjoyed a sordid affair behind Tracy’s hubby and Caleb’s nephew Nate’s (Jurell Carter) back.
The illicit coupling has seen the pair engage in countless steamy romps with one another amid a series of secret hook-ups away from their families.
However, cracks have already begun to show with people one-by-one uncovering the romance brewing.
Caleb’s son Nicky (Lewis Cope) was the first to learn of his father’s ways and soon Moira caught Tracy and Caleb in a steamy clinch on her sofa on Christmas Day.
Moira had choice words for the pair and demand that the affair be ended immediately or risk it being exposed to their families.
Caleb, having only just built bridges with his long-lost Dingle clan, was left shook to the core at the thought of being frozen out of the family once again if Cain were to find out what he had been doing with his son’s wife.
As a result, in tonight’s episode, Caleb told Tracy the romance was over despite her pleas to let it continue in secret.
She later told Moira she was “hurt” that the affair had ended after being left excited at the thought of spending time with Caleb.
However, she soon channelled her hurt into another emotion after rediscovering her connection with doting husband Nate later in the episode.
Tracy soon confesses a wicked plan and tells Caleb that she is even prepared to risk her marriage in the process if he does not go along with her furious demands as she is hellbent on getting her hands on some cash to open up the nursery she has longed for.
Speaking to Caleb, Tracy said: “I’ve got a proposition for you.
“You are gonna help me get my nursery off the ground, and this time, I’m not taking no for an answer.”
Caleb suggested she was “ridiculous” for “power-playing” but Tracy insisted she was not to be under-estimated.
She continued: “Just because we aren’t having an affair anymore does not mean that we can’t work together.
“If you don’t, and Cain finds out…”
Caleb then said: “You’d seriously ruin your marriage in the process?”
Tracy replied: “It’s already damaged though, we both know that.”
Caleb continually refused but Tracy later gathered the whole family at the pub to tell them that he had agreed to plough the cash into the business with him being put on the spot and unable to back out fearing that he would be blacklisted from the family should Tracy expose their affair.
Viewers of Emmerdale were left stunned to see Tracy turn on Caleb and manipulate him as well as wanting the cash for the business and to hurt Caleb more than she actually cared for her marriage to Nate.
Commenting on the scenes, one said: “Tracy has zero shame. She’s always been irritating but now she’s a full blown nasty b****”
Another penned: “Tracy has got more to lose than Caleb? Is she dumb?”
