No, this injury didn’t involve a misplaced meat thermometer.
EastEnders star Kellie Bright has revealed she’s sustained a painful injury from her real-life hobby.
Taking to Instagram, the actor shared a photo of herself with her forearm taped up after taking part in the extreme sport… of crocheting.
“SWIPE RIGHT if you want to see how I ended up with a strained ligament and all taped up,” she captioned the post, with the second photo showing her holding a ball of yarn and crocheting needle in-front of the camera.
“Please tell me someone else who crochets has experienced this???? So frickin painful!!!!!”
However, Bright went on to reveal she’d received little sympathy at work for her injury, adding: “No sympathy at work… ‘you hurt your arm doing what?!'”
Indeed her co-stars were quick to share their amused reactions in the comments. “No extreme crocheting added to actors contracts from here on in,” Heather Pearce wrote, while Diane Parish added a crying laughing emoji.
However, she isn’t the only star to have suffered from a craft-based injury, with Gillian Wright revealing she has had the same issue.
“Oh yes! Know the pain intimately,” she wrote. “Hugely annoying aswell!”
On screen, Bright’s character Linda Carter is currently struggling to hold it together amid the ongoing fallout of the Christmas murder of Keanu Taylor.
After Keanu’s body was uncovered in the cafe, the six scrambled to cover their tracks by coming up with a risky plan to frame evil Dean Wicks for his death.
The plan has so far worked, with Dean being charged for Keanu’s murder, but will the secret stay hidden?
EastEnders airs on Mondays – Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
